Gloria Andrews: a Testament to Doing Your Personal Best!

Determined housekeeper climbs the ranks to become Director at 900-bed Grady Health System

Gloria Andrews started as a housekeeper at 900-bed Grady Health System in Atlanta, GA, but soon became Lead Housekeeper and then Supervisor.

“I believe in always doing my personal best,” Andrews explained. Her attitude impressed Resident Managers Mike Cobb, Sean LeMaster, and Debby Biller, who progressively promoted Andrews to ES Director.

From 18 to 235 direct reports, Andrews’ career is a testament to her philosophy. “I made sure my clients and customers came first,” said Andrews, “and built relationships.” Her advice to others who dream of a management career: “Your job is just as important as the doctor down the hall. Always do your best; the rest will follow.”
