Michael Bailey, SVP/Laundry Services

Michael Bailey entered the facilities management industry in New England in 1977 as a Supervisor for a local janitorial service company while still at college. In 1979, he joined Crothall Hospital Services, Inc., as Housekeeping Manager for the Children's and Admitting Hospitals of Chicago's 1,400-bed Cook County Hospital. After two years and through several promotions, he reached the position of Associate Director, Environmental Services overseeing 250 FTEs, before being assigned to the University of California Medical Center, San Diego (440 beds) as Director of Housekeeping.

In 1983, Michael was transferred to Fresno, California, where he served as Director of Housekeeping for Fresno County's 400-bed Valley Medical Center. In 1984, he returned to San Diego as Resident Area Manager, Sharp Memorial Hospital (420 beds), to implement the Crothall program. He later was promoted to District Manager, Southern California, overseeing a $10 million revenue base consisting of a dozen hospitals throughout Southern California.

In 1985, Michael rejoined Graeme Crothall to start Quornden Inc., a new hospital housekeeping company. As Vice President, West, he opened fifteen new housekeeping accounts throughout California, and, assisted by three district managers, had oversight of 35 accounts with revenues in excess of $30 million.

In 1990, Michael worked as a consultant primarily in Canada and England. He set up and revised housekeeping programs at Vancouver General Hospital (1000 beds), British Columbia Children's Hospital (280 beds), Sunnybrook Health and Science Center, Toronto (1143 beds). In October 1991, Michael joined Crothall as Regional Manager, South, based in Nashville, Tennessee, and was soon promoted to Regional Vice President. In November 1997, he was promoted to Vice President Laundry Management.

Michael has experience in all aspects of the housekeeping, laundry and linen management industry in hospitals, colleges and schools. He has worked throughout the U.S. and Canada, in both union and non-union settings.

He is based in Orange County, California.
