Two months ago, the new cap-and-trade legislation sent a signal that changes could be coming soon that will have a real impact on healthcare operations. I believe it is important for our company to stay informed to find ways to help our customers develop solutions to meet these challenges. What exactly the future holds is anyone’s guess, but we need to be prepared to take advantage of opportunities to help our customers thrive.

This issue of Celebrations discusses how we are working proactively to help our customers create benchmarks and give them better information to make decisions about their plant operations. Whatever form new energy laws ultimately take, it seems inevitable that there will be some form of environmental regulations we will need to address.

We are working to help our customers be more environmentally responsible. Because we touch so many aspects of a hospital’s operations, there are many opportunities to reduce its impact on its community and the environment. We have created our “GreenChoices” program to communicate the ways we are helping make a difference, as well as to investigate new opportunities to help our customers create a healthy environment for their patients.

This issue also takes a look at one of the best ways Crothall is able to integrate the multiple, often complicated, tasks we perform for our hospital customers. A Hospitality Resource Center is a central information and logistics hub that facilitates improving productivity and speeding patient flow.

I am also extremely proud to share the results of our latest annual employee engagement survey. We have seen an increase in overall results since last year by making investments enabling employees to feel more connected to our company. It is encouraging to see that we have been able to make a difference for the people that we depend on most of all.

Finally, this issue takes a look at the challenges our Senior Living customers face and how Crothall is able to help them remain competitive in a growing market.
